In order to comply with the Knox County TN Health Department, HAL cannot currently accept walk in samples. We continue to receive and process samples via USPS and various carriers.

Cannabinoids

Hemp plants generate many cannabinoids, such as THC and CBD, throughout their growth cycle. These cannabinoids have applications in many industries.

Terpenes are compounds generated by the hemp plant during it's growth cycle that give it a distinct 'flavor'. Terpene profiles are important to understand what 'flavor' the different strains of hemp produce which can determine what end products the material can be suited for.

Moisture

A healthy hemp plant is over 50% water. Moisture content in the harvested hemp plant is needed accurately calculate cannabinoid concentrations, such as ∆-9 THC which the state of Tennessee uses to determine what is legal hemp, on a "dried basis".

Moisture Testing

Included in the cost of the Cannabinoids test, this test requires minimum sample size of 2 gram per submitted sample in addition to the 2 grams required by the Cannabinoids test.

Heavy metals found in soil, such as arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury, can be absorbed by the hemp plant during the growth cycle.
